Reading an extract from the 'Saga van de Grindbankbewoners' (translated by Marcel Otten), which gives us a link with Jarl Sigurd of the Orkneys, father of Jarl Thorfinn. This Jarl Thorfinn was a cousin of MacBeth and Duncan and played an important part in the demise of the later.

The construction of a polder consciousness as a factor in the opposition against the demolition of the polder and it's villages, in the years 1955-1965 (Niels Sverlow's bijdrage aan het boek Poldergrond) & nowadays: the rise of 'Polderfront', the protest against the misuse of the name Oosterweel and the story of it's last remain, the St.Jan-Baptist Kerk. And about the possible mythological roots from and the tradition of Gooseriding - Gansrijden, still going strong in Ekeren, Hoevenen, Stabroek, Lillo, Berendrecht and Zandvliet, also in other parts of Europe.
